Our Story

It all began with a chance meeting in May of 2006 at a cafe in Union Square, NY. Alex was having lunch with his friends Ilya and Oraibi  (Dania's older brother). Turned out that Dania was in the area and Oraibi invited her to join. He did warn Ilya and Alex not to flirt with his sister, but when Dania showed up, Alex just couldn't resist. Dania wasn't particularly fond of Alex at first and thought he was a bit full of himself. At the end of the lunch Alex asked Dania for her number which she at first refused to give. However Alex the persistent man that he is, kept asking until she broke down and gave it to him.  Which in retrospect she is very  happy that she did.

A few weeks later, on June 16, Alex and Dania met for their first date at a cute outdoor Spanish Tapas restaurant in the West Village.  Over the next few months Dania realized that she had grossly misjudged Alex.  He was not arrogant , but he was charming, intelligent and had an interesting sense of humour.  Even though the two were as different as is possible, they found that their unique personalities complimented each-other.  And now five years later they are getting ready to say their vows and make the commitment to spend the rest of their lives together!
